Rachel Golland, Assistant Professor of English, has more than 20 years of teaching experience in a range of specializations, such as composition and rhetoric, digital literacies, online instruction, college reading, and writing across the curriculum. At St. Thomas Aquinas College, where she served as an instructor of English and of technology-based composition, she taught an extensive portfolio of courses, including developmental and technology-oriented courses for underserved students, and created and implemented online and hybrid writing and literature courses. She also served as writing program director and mentor for learning-disabled students at STAC, and has worked in private practice as an advisor for students’ personal essays on college applications.

Golland has published and presented numerous papers on an array of English topics. She earned a BA in English Literature and an MEd in Secondary English Instruction from George Washington University, and is pursuing a PhD in Teaching of English and English Education from Columbia University Teachers College.
