The Mission and Purpose of the Club is to provide students with a forum to generate and discuss accounting and auditing business ideas, and learn how small businesses are formed and how they raise funds at the beginning start-up cycle. The AI Club serves as a place of community for discussing, learning about, and working on topics related to machine learning and artificial intelligence across disciplines. Meeting activities include discussions of current events in AI, professor talks, tutorials, and workshops.

 Alpha Beta Gamma is an international business honor society for students who have completed 15 credits, have earned a 3.0 grade point average both overall and in business courses, and are pursuing a degree in business (including Office Technologies and Hospitality and Tourism). Student members are eligible for several business scholarships and are recognized at an annual ceremony.

RCC Art Club’s mission is to organize and execute art events on campus, art events in the community, and take field trips to art museums and galleries in NYC and surrounding area.

The mission of the Campus Players is to explore and highlight the talent and creativity of our students through a variety of Visual and Performing Arts mediums, including Theatre, Film, Music, Dance, Musical Theatre and Cinema!

The objectives of this chapter/club is to promote the science of chemistry in and around the SUNY Rockland community. Our main purpose is to develop and encourage computer security awareness and application by providing students with the tools and education they need to advance their computer security careers. To accomplish this goal, we organize community outreach programs about security related topics, host tech talks and guest speakers and participate in security related competitions and conventions. We hope to increase the overall knowledge of all SUNY Rockland Community College students in an effort to help them be better prepared to protect themselves.

The Economic and Investments club provides an opportunity for students of RCC to further their education in economics beyond the scope of classroom work and to get hands-on experience in investment strategies by participating in a contest on the Howthemarketworks trading platform.

The Honors Newsletter Club looks to educate both the RCC community and the Rockland County community about the Sam Draper Honors Program and its many students. By learning more about the Sam Draper Honors Program, we hope that more students feel inspired to join. By joining the Honors Newsletter club, students will have the opportunity to advance their creativity, photography, writing, graphic design, and gain greater leadership skills.

To learn and develop and learn about other cultures from each other through experiences, food, activities, etc. as learning about others fosters good citizenship both on and off campus. We work with other clubs to also foster that mission.

The Marketing Club is working to promote the college and student voice through and print advertising. We are the student voice through promotion of the many amazing things happening on campus.

MSA’s goal is to create a safe space for Muslim and non-Muslim students alike. We wish to give students an environment where they can present their voices and build a closer relationship with Allah and their Muslim peers. MSA hopes members will support each other in their religious, academic, and personal lives. We aspire that non-Muslim students can learn more about the Islamic faith, learn how to protect their Muslim peers from Islamophobia and speak freely about pro-Palestinian views.

The Garden Club serves as a space to help interested students learn more about gardening, take care of the garden on campus as well the upcoming community garden, and make new friends in a positive and relaxing space!

The main purpose of the poetry club is to provide students the knowledge to improve their creative writing skills and work on their ability to express themselves through poetry. We’ll do this by learning different literary practices, analyzing famous poems, and hosting regular poetry readings where everyone can read their poems in a safe and non-judgmental space. By doing this, students will gain the confidence and passion that comes with pursuing the art of poetry.

Psi Beta was founded for the purpose of stimulating, encouraging, and recognizing students’ outstanding scholarship and interest in psychology. Psi Beta’s mission is to encourage professional development and psychological literacy of all students at two-year colleges through promotion and recognition of excellence in scholarship, leadership, research, and community service.

SUNY Rockland Robotics is a place for all RCC students to come together and build, code, market, and finance robotic solutions to community problems. Every semester, members search for a problem to solve with a robot and spend that semester primarily focused on implementing a long-lasting and sustainable solution before the end of the semester.

The objective of the Sociology Club is to promote wellbeing and community, which includes the cultural, educational, and social life values of Sociology Majors and students interested in Sociology of the Rockland Community. Toward this end, the club shall, through its activities, including community service, attempt to present the many specialties and perspectives in sociological theory, and with regard to social problems, and social research. It will also strive to integrate the above student activities with those of other concerned groups on campus, and in nearby communities.

Somos El Futuro ( We are the Future) is dedicated to empowering Hispanic and Latino students by providing them with the support, resources, and opportunities necessary to thrive academically and professionally. The club offers a range of services, including workshops, peer mentoring programs, and events designed to assist students who may be facing financial, academic, or emotional challenges. Through these initiatives, Somos El Futuro aims to create a supportive community where students can overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential.

Our mission is to give students a chance to voice their experiences and opinions, address academic/ mental well-being, dispute societal standards, and discuss relevant topics in the world, as well as on campus. In this club the goal is for everyone to learn how to create a podcast, brainstorm ideas, get students on campus involved through interviews, and be able to freely express their ideas.

Student BOARDS

The Student Government Association (SGA) is a group of dedicated student leaders that represents and expresses the needs of all students so their college experience achieves the optimum balance between education and involvement. We ensure that RCC students’ needs and concerns are met. This body oversees student activities fees that are allocated to various clubs and events on campus. The SGA is composed of 5 Executive Board members, 10 Sophomore Senators, and 10 Freshman Senators.

Mission Statement
The Student Government Association of Rockland Community College is determined to advocate for the student body, representing the voice of the student’s academic needs. As student leaders, the Student Government Association will seek to involve its peers in some form of extracurricular activities with the ultimate goal of enhancing their college experience and instilling more school spirit. We feel that by encouraging student involvement, it will assist the entire College in working toward the common goal of making our school even better than what it is today.

Our mission…

The Student Activities Board (SAB) is a committed student-led college programming organization responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and hosting various social, cultural, educational and entertainment events on and off campus. In addition, SAB oversees all student clubs and organizations and acts as their liaison with the Student Government Association (SGA). SAB provides a resource that encourages organization, communication, friendship, and leadership.

Leadership Programs

Eleanor’s Community College Emerging Leaders (ECCEL) Program is an intensive leadership and service based program hosted at the Eleanor Roosevelt Center at Val-Kill. This program is partnered with four community colleges in the lower Hudson Valley area: Dutchess Community College, Orange County Community College, Ulster County Community College, and Rockland Community College. A maximum of 9 students from each community college each year are selected for this opportunity. ECCEL prepares students to lead in all aspects of their lives – personal, academic, professional and community. With a focus on self-discovery, skill development, experiential learning and global citizenship, the program will contribute significantly to students’ academic achievement and workforce success and prepare them to lead in a global society. Students complete 3 weekend retreats, a networking dinner and workshop, and a community impact project at each institution. Students accepted into ECCEL become Louis B. Greenspan Scholars and receive special certificates of completion in June at the programs close.

Honors Societies

Business leaders know the value of serving others. RCC’s chapter of Alpha Beta Gamma, the business honor society, has embraced that credo. Club members volunteer for community events like the Good Samaritan Blood Drive, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Light the Night Walk, Walk for Domestic Abuse, and a toy drive for underprivileged kids. They expand their knowledge of the corporate world with visits to places like the Museum of American Finance on Wall Street. Guest speakers from the local business community offer first-hand insights and advice.

Beta Beta Beta provides opportunities for students to develop their interests in the wide-ranging field of biology. Members are encouraged to participate in research activities and have presented their findings at such recognized events as the SUNY Innovative Exploration Forum and the Beta Beta Beta NE-1 District Convention. Members also select their own field trips and community events, such as the Body World Exhibition in NYC, Earth Day events, and various hikes in Rockland County. At meetings, club members read and discuss scholarly journals in various biological topics and complete research experiments.

International honor society founded in 1911. Membership exceeds 1.2 million worldwide.

Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for two-year colleges. Take advantage of many rewarding opportunities on campus and in the community for PTK members. The PTK induction ceremony for new members is in late April. Come to our Fall and Spring information sessions and learn more. Eligibility requirements include a minimum 3.6 GPA and 12 credits earned with no incomplete grades.

The Sigma Chi Eta Speech Communication honor society offers a forum to discuss and exchange ideas in the field of communication. Students explore transfer and career options. Recent activities include theater presentations, symposia, panel discussions and visits by guest speakers. New members are inducted each Spring.
