Intended Audience: Middle school through college students, general audience

Abstract: As a documentary photojournalist with a focus on the African American Diaspora, Fournier has photographed the Caribbean (Jamaica, Martinique, USVI, Trinidad), West Africa (Senegal, Mali, Ghana, Togo and Benin), as well as the site of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana and the ship, the “Amistad,” from Connecticut to Nova Scotia. Fournier has several PowerPoint/slide presentations prepared for various audiences.

About the Speaker: Collette Fournier teaches photography as an adjunct faculty member in the Art Department. She earned a BS in Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY; and an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts, Montpelier, VT.
