RCC Student Literary Magazine to Hold Launch Party
free and open to the public

RAMAPO – A launch party is set for this year’s edition of the Rockland Community College student literary magazine, Impulse. The general public is invited to the free event at RCC’s Cultural Arts Center.

Thursday, April 27, 2017
12 – 1:30 pm
Cultural Arts Center, Student Exhibition Space (Room 7200 – 2nd floor)

Free copies of the magazine will be distributed to those who attend the launch party. The first 25 people to arrive will also be entered into a drawing for a limited-edition poster featuring photography and artwork from the publication. Artists and authors will be on hand, and refreshments will be served.

Impulse features poetry, short stories, photographs and illustrations of student artwork. The entire publication is edited and designed by students. Impulse has won numerous awards from the Community College Humanities Association.

Key members of the Impulse student staff this year include Emma Connaughton, president of the club and creative director for the publication, and Emily Lear, club vice-president and art director. RCC Art Instructor Eileen MacAvery Kane is the club advisor, with English Professor Suzanne Cleary-Langley serving as the literary advisor.
