Why Study Physics?
Studying physics will enable students to understand basic phenomena in nature, from the dropping of a ball to the behavior of matter at subatomic to galactic levels. Courses in physics provide students with a foundation for more specialized and advanced areas of study in a baccalaureate program. Upon completing the program, students will be prepared for transfer to a four-year institution where they can further their education in areas such as physics, education, engineering, biophysics, or related areas.
Meet our faculty
Many of our science faculty have done lab-based research and are able to bring that unique experience to our students. Our distinguished faculty of over 100 full-time and 400 part-time members includes numerous Fulbright Scholars, SUNY Chancellor’s Award winners and published authors. Average class size of 22 allows faculty members to work one-on-one with students.
