Why Study Public Health?
This Associate of Science degree in Public Health is designed to prepare students for transfer into four-year college or university programs to complete a BS degree in Public Health or other fields of study. The curriculum of core courses in Public Health and general education credits is comparable to the first two years of study in Public Health programs at four-year institutions.
This degree provides a foundation in public health knowledge applicable in a broad range of health-related fields including Bio-Statistics, Health Informatics, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Bioterrorism Research, and many more. Public Health professionals work in settings that include state and local health departments and government agencies, hospitals, corporate wellness programs, educational institutions, research organizations, and international development agencies.

A distinguished faculty of over 100 full-time and 400 part-time members includes numerous Fulbright Scholars, SUNY Chancellor’s Award winners and those in Computer Studies who have earned specialized certification in Web Programming/Web Engineering. Average class size of 22 allows faculty members to work one-on-one with students.
