Why Study Emergency Management?

Pursue a career where you can really make a difference! Trained emergency managers provide critical support to people and their communities in times of need. Learn best practices and efficiencies to protect lives and reduce risks and property damage during disasters. Learn about preparation, hazard mitigation, response and recovery, and Incident Command System (ICS) responsibilities, homeland security, communication, decision-making, ethical leadership, and the sociological and historical contexts of emergency management. This convenient online program is offered through the Hudson Valley Educational Consortium to provide skilled effective managers and leaders for our region before, during, and after any emergency.

The AAS degree in Emergency Management is designed for students seeking immediate employment in the field and will prepare students to react and be effective before, during and after any local, state or national emergency.

Meet our faculty

Our distinguished faculty includes acclaimed emergency responders from one of the premier fire departments in the State of New York as well as other career firefighters and emergency responders. Average class size of 22 allows faculty members to work one-on-one with students.
