Why Study Biology?

Studying biology will enable students to understand the evolution, growth and function of living organisms, as well as an understanding of how those organisms interact with others in their respective environments. Courses in biology provide students with a foundation for more specialized and advanced areas of study in a baccalaureate program. Upon completing the program, students will be prepared for transfer to a four-year institution where they can further their education in areas such as education, ecology, scientific or technical writing, health professions, or related areas.

Degrees offered:

Students interested in biology often pursue the following degree programs:

Associate in Science (AS): Environmental Science
Associate in Science (AS): Liberal Arts and Sciences Mathematics and Science
