SOC 255 Understanding Mediterranean Culture Through the Greek Experience

Understanding the Mediterranean Culture through the Greek Experience is designed as an empirical tool through which to expand our understanding of cultural diversity by visiting Greece. Students will experience a different society and understand it through the tools of sociological using the theoretical approach known as Symbolic Interactionism. This will give us the opportunity to learn how a sociologist would approach the question of cultural understanding using concepts such as the dramaturgical approach, impression management, the meaning of gestures, etc.
