PSY 202  Counseling Elderly and their Families

 

This course is designed for those interested in working with the elderly or currently employed in the field of aging. Dilemmas of work with the aged; physical, psychological and social concerns facing the elderly; values, skills, and ethics in working in both community and institutional settings are reviewed. Case approaches from practice, experience and research help students develop competence. Specific techniques and interventions for working with the elderly are introduced and reviewed.

 

  • Prerequisite: PSY 180 or permission of the Discipline Coordinator.
