PED 155 Skiing/Snowboarding

The purpose of the course is to design a personal pre-season conditioning program for snowboarding/skiing and to make four independent trips during the winter session. The course starts in the middle of the fall semester, giving students an opportunity to shape up, plan trips, check equipment, set skiing goals and review rules of safety and courtesy. There will be seven weekly seminars for planning and conditioning. Students will meet twice a week for 75 minute periods in the Rockland Community College weight room to design an individual workout based on pre-test results and model workout programs. The course is designed for the downhill skier, the cross-country skier, and the snowboarder at every level of skill.
