PHL 201 Introduction to Philosophy

This course examines a number of questions, problems and perspectives on the nature of man, reality and the just society. It is primarily concerned with the ideas that define and differentiate people and which enable them to understand their place in the cosmos. These ideas include various perspectives on reality, knowledge, truth, justice, morality, art, religion, politics, society, education, ourselves and other people. It presents philosophy as originating from a sense of mystery and as essential to fully comprehending our individual and social lives.
