GER 203 Introduction to German Literature II
Introduction to German Literature I is a one semester course. Students will be engaged in the reading and discussion of the important works of German literature from the Old High German periods, linguistic and philosophic changes, and the culture and civilization of each time period. Specific lectures will cover excerpts from the Middle High German Period, Period of Mysticism, Humanism and Reformation, and 17th and 18th century philosophers. Students taking this course will come to understand that the cultural development of any people has its roots in the thoughts and ideas as expressed by the masters of that period.
