EHP 146 Lifeguard Training

(cross-listed with PES 146 and HPS 146)

 

This course will teach American Red Cross Lifeguard Training skills. Students must be 15 years old and a good swimmer. Students will become certified in American Red Cross First Aid and CPR. Completion with a passing grade will give the individual lifeguard certification, CPR certification and First Aid certification with the American Red Cross. Students must pass a pre-course swim test that will be conducted the first day of class in order to resume receiving certification.

 

  • Prerequisite: Pass pre-course swimming test that consist of a 300 yard swim and demonstrate proficiency in front crawl and breaststroke and also swim 16 yards, dive down and retrieve a 10lb. brick and swim back in 1:40.
