ENG 266 Gender Roles in Literature
In this course students will read and discuss imaginative literature (e.g. stories and poems) about changing gender roles and choices in the modern historical period, from the Victorian age to present day. The female literary tradition in order to achieve a broader perspective. Literature will be addressed with a focus on the roles of men and women as they move through the various critical stages of the life cycle. A single text will be supplemented by other materials. Writing and an independent final project are required.
