ENG 212 Shakespeare
A study of Shakespeare’s world and his plays, with specific focus on contemporary critical concerns, including gender, race, and theatricality. Conditions of life in early modern England will be investigated to elucidate the plays in their own time; recent production approaches (on stage and film) will be discussed and evaluated.
