Web Registration Instruction

WebAdvisor Instructions

 

Go to www.sunyrockland.edu, locate the Quick Links drop down menu, select WebAdvisor. Click Log In tab, type in user ID and password (case sensitive) and then on Students.

Once you have logged in with your ID and password, go to Register for Sections followed by:

  • Express Registration if you know your course sections OR
  • Search and Register if you do not know your course sections.

 

General Information on How to Use WebAdvisor to Register

The top row of each drop down menu is a blank line that stands for the “null” field.

  • It is always faster to use Express Registration where you must enter all course section info. Search and Register allows you to look for all BIO courses or for all courses that only meet after 3 p.m.
  • The course section info must be typed in 3 separate fields, e.g., If you want HIS 101 001, HIS is the subject, 101 is the course number, and 001 is the section. The course number is NOT HIS101.
  • Once you have entered your courses and clicked on submit, you are NOT immediately registered. You are given a list of your “Preferred Sections” on a screen labeled Register and Drop Sections so that you have the opportunity to make changes in case you made a typo or change your mind.
    • To Register or Remove from list all of the courses, go to the box at the top of screen in the center that says ACTION FOR ALL Pref. Sections (or choose below): and click on the option that you want.
    • To Register or Remove from list only some of the sections on your preferred list or to register for some and remove others, use the drop down box in the ACTION column next to each section.
    Once you click submit on this screen, the computer will then tell you if you have been successfully registered for each of the courses listed.
  • If you do not or cannot complete the registration transaction, the computer will retain the list of courses that you have entered. You can always come back to that list by clicking on Register for Previously Selected Sections – do not re-enter the list over again!
  • Error messages are displayed across the top of your screen after you click submit.
  • If you want to audit a course or take a course that is normally graded A through F for a pass/fail grade, you must complete a Pass/Fail/Audit form and take it to the Records Office.

 

Register and Drop Sections Screen (shows Preferred Sections)

On this screen you have 2 options: Register or Remove from List (of preferred sections). You can exercise either of these options for all of the courses or for only some of the courses.

  • To Register or Remove from list all of the courses, go to the box at the top of screen in the center that says ACTION FOR ALL Pref. Sections (or choose below): and click on the option that you want.
  • To Register or Remove from list only some of the sections on your preferred list or to register for some and remove others, use the drop down box in the ACTION column next to each section.

 

  • If your registration was successful, a Registration Results screen appears.
  • If your registration was unsuccessful, an error message will appear at the top of the screen. Please make the necessary corrections and submit your courses again. If you are unable to resolve the error message, print the screen with the message and bring it to the Records Office for assistance. Remember that to be officially registered you must reach the Registration Results screen with the message "registration successful" appearing next to each course.
  • This screen also shows all of your current registrations at the bottom including any ungraded semesters.
