Soap opera star (Remy Boudreau on "Guiding Light"). '02 Graduate
"My first acting experience was at RCC. It gave me the freedom to explore and be free on the stage and in class. It was a positive environment."
Saint-Victor, a graduate of Ramapo High School, plays the role of Remy Boudreau on the long-running soup opera, "Guiding Light."
It was with the Performing Arts Department at the College that Saint-Victor first pursued his interest in acting and experienced his first stage kiss. "RCC was the first acting experience I truly had. It gave me the freedom to explore and be free on the stage and in class. Without this stepping stone, I can honestly say I wouldn’t be on the road to pursuing my dreams right now." Before the end of his freshman year, he was already working as an extra on "Guiding Light."
Saint-Victor was the first recipient of the newly created African American Performing Arts Scholarship from Elmwood Playhouse. He went on to the Conservatory of Theatre Arts and Film at Purchase and graduated in 2006 with a B.F.A. in acting. Recently married, Saint-Victor offers this advice to actors: "It's a lot about how hard you are willing to work—how much you want it." He adds to everyone else: "Pursue your dreams, it doesn’t matter what the odds are."
