How to Apply

Applying to Rockland Community College is simple! Follow these steps

  1. Complete an Enrollment Application and the package of Financial Statement, Personal Data Form and Statement of Understanding available at this office by either calling (845) 574-4263, Faxing (845) 574-4134 or e-mailing us at mdellarc@sunyrockland.edu
  2. Mail your complete application to us.
  3. At this point you are accepted to the college. We will mail you a SEVIS I-20 Form, which you will take to the U.S. embassy in your country and apply for a Student Visa(F-1). You also need to show a visa application and financial documentation there.
  4. You can enter the U.S., after you have received your Student Visa. Mail us the arrival information, should you need somebody to pick you up from the airport and, or you need housing. We will help you find housing after you have arrived, for the time being you will stay at the hotel Wellesley Inn, which is close to the college.
  5. New students must be assessed in English and Math prior to registration. Upon arrival, you will be informed about a date and time of your assessments. You also will have to attend the International Student Orientation, which is mandatory.
  6. After taking the English and Math Assessments, you will be advised, at this time, you will meet with an Advisor, to plan your academic schedule, and register for classes.

 

A complete application includes:

  • Enrollment Application
  • International Student Forms
    • Financial Statement
    • Personal Data Form
    • Statement of Understanding
    • Form I-20 filled out and signed
  • An original or certified copy of an official high school transcript
  • Original or certified copy of financial statement (bank statement, sponsor, scholarship...) converted into US$ for the amount of at least $18,500.
  • Documentation of Immunization (if you were born after 1/1/57)
  • Transfer students must submit an original or certified copy of an official college transcript from all previously attended colleges or universities.
