The EAP is open to high school seniors who wish to complete their senior year of high school by registering as full-time students at RCC and taking credit courses on campus. All students must start the application process with their high school guidance counselor. (Home-schooled students should contact Admissions.)
Who is Eligible?
High school seniors with a minimum grade point average of 80 or 2.66. You must pass the English and Math placement tests with a placement into English 101 and Math 101.
Where and What Will I Study?
You will enroll as a full-time student (minimum of 12 credits) and take all your courses at Rockland Community College. Your courses must meet your high school graduation requirements. Consult your HS guidance counselor for details.
How Much Does It Cost?
Regular tuition rates apply. Rates for 2013-14 are $4,176/year or $174/credit (NYS residents, subject to change).
Earn College Credit While You Are in High School!
The HSP is open to high school juniors and seniors who wish to register part-time (fewer than 12 credits per semester) and take classes either in your high school or on RCC's main campus or Haverstraw site. Sample courses include: Criminal Justice, Physics, Pre-Calculus, Painting, Ceramics, Political Science, Psychology, French, Spanish and many more.
Who is Eligible?
Students must place into English 095 or higher, except for students seeking to enroll in studio art, Physical Education (PED) or Math courses. Students seeking to register for Math courses must take the Math assessment test and place appropriately for the course they are seeking to take.
Option A: On campus at Rockland Community College.
Submit a high school transcript, and RCCHSP Certification form. Regular Tuition rates apply.
Rates for 2013-14 are $ 174/credit (NYS residents, subject to change).
Option B: At your high school.
Your high school may offer numerous college-level courses for which you will receive RCC credit. If your high school does not offer RCC courses, speak to your guidance counselor.
The cost is $ 58.00 per credit for public school students (subject to change)
