Doctorates Awarded to Rockland Community College Faculty and Administrators
Ramapo, NY—Two Rockland Community College administrators and one faculty member have recently earned their doctorates.
Christie Cruse, EdD, Director, Title III Activity/First Year Experience, Academic Affairs, completed her EdD in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Her dissertation title is: "Evaluating the Relationship Between Satisfaction and Retention Among At-Risk, First-Year College Students." She graduated in August 2012.
Brian Merritt, EdD, Director of the Haverstraw Extension Center, earned his doctorate in Management in Community College Policy and Administration from the University of Maryland University College. His dissertation title is: "A Faculty Development Model to Improve the Pass Rate in Developmental English Courses." He graduates on May 12, 2013.Lisa Schachter, DNP, FNP, Associate Professor, Nursing, earned her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Her dissertation title is: “A Feasibility Project for a Pilot Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Residency Program in Long Term Care.” She graduated in December 2012.
