Putting a File

by Webmaster last modified March 03, 2008 10:52 AM

The Put File button is used to transfer a file from your Macintosh to the host computer. This is uploading Example: Your Mac to your server.

When you press the "Put" button you will be prompted for the file you wish to send. Then you will see a dialog box that lets you set the name the file will be given on the other computer and the format it will be stored in. Be sure to pick a name that will be acceptable to the other machine (some systems require file names that are shorter than Macintosh file names and most forbid the use of certain characters).

Note that if a file of the name you specify already exists on the other computer it will be overwritten without warning, unless you check the "If a file already exists: Pick a different name" box.
