Cannot save files to the floppy

Verify that the floppy diskette that you are attempting to read from is not write protected or bad. Verify that the diskette is not write protected by sliding the tab into the position not allowing light to shine through it.

Because of the technology of floppy diskette drives, it is likely for floppy diskettes to easily become bad.

If you know that your floppy is good but your computer asks you to format it - call your technician. In this case your floppy drive (hardware part inside the computer) is bad and needs replacement.

Technology has advanced to the point that USB drives are more cost-effective than floppy disks. Numerous USB drives can be use for redundancy (backups).
