Accessing a Mnemonic
Tree Options

The graphical, tree-structured menus enable navigation through an application’s menus and submenus by pointing and clicking, while maintaining a comprehensive view of the entire menu. When an application is selected, the application workspace menu screen is displayed.
Menus and submenus are represented by folder icons, while screens are represented by four different icons according to functionality
Maintenance – Maintenance screens, represented by the Maintenance icon, allows data to be added or changed and is permanently recorded in the database; for example, a person’s name and address.
Note: If the system administrator has given you read-only access to a maintenance screen, you will be able to access it in an inquiry mode only, even though it displays the Maintenance icon in the tree menu.
Inquiry – Inquiry screens, represented by the Inquiry icon, allow you to view information without changing it and are designed in a “view only” mode. An example of this is the history of a general ledger account.
Reporting – Reporting screens, represented by the Reporting icon, allow the generation of a particular report according to your specifications. For example, you could run a report on vouchers with a due date of two weeks from now.
Processing – Processing screens, represented by the Processing icon, allows you to start a program that manipulates a record or a group of records behind the scenes; for example, posting a group of transactions to the general ledger.
