Summer Bridge Program

The Summer Bridge Program (SBP) is a five week summer program sponsored by the Office of Disability Services and is designed for incoming students with disabilities. The program will assist students in their transition to Rockland Community College by providing educational and enjoyable learning opportunities which will help to strengthen their math, reading and writing skills. In addition, incoming students will have the chance to experience all that Rockland Community College has to offer including state of the art assistive and adaptive learning technology and enthusiastic professors, counselors and staff.

The SBP will also include a life skills workshop that will help to build strong study, organizational and leadership skills. The workshops will give students the opportunity to interact with other students and explore goals for starting their journey through college.

The Summer Bridge Program will begin on Monday, July 6th, 2009 and end on Friday August 6th, 2009. The cost of the program is $100.

The Office of Disability Services is excited to offer the 2009 Summer Bridge Program for students.  The ODS staff believes that establishing the proper foundation for learning is crucial to the successful education of all students.  The Summer Bridge Program provides an opportunity for participants to begin building such a foundation.
