SUNY Rockland Community College and the staff of the Testing Center are committed to academic honesty and excellence. The Testing Center provides testing services for students who:

  • Need to make up missed tests.
  • Require special testing accommodations
  • Are enrolled in RCC distance learning courses
  • Require a proctored testing environment

The Testing Center proctors tests from the first day to the last day of each semester.  The center is closed on days when classes are not in session.

NOTE: You will be asked to sign a Test Center Policy Contract before accessing Test Center services. You may download this contract below.

Testing Center Code of Conduct:

  1. IDENTIFICATION:
Official Photo Identification such as a current Rockland Community College photo ID or a driver's license is required.
  2. TESTING MATERIALS:
No books, notes, notebooks, or other materials are allowed during testing unless listed on the "Test Instructions" given to the proctor by the professor.  Students caught with materials not specifically permitted by the instructor will have these materials confiscated, and the incident will be reported to the instructor. The student is responsible for bringing pencils and other needed materials.  Scratch paper will be provided by the proctor and must be turned in with the test.  Calculators will be provided by Test Center Personnel.  Students may not use their own calculators unless a scientific calculator is required.
  3. SCHEDULING:
Once a test is handed to the student, it must be completed in that one sitting.  Testing Center Hours are posted.  It is the student's responsibility to allow enough time to complete the test.  Absolutely no communication with anyone other than Testing Center personnel is allowed.
The student may discuss the subject matter of the test with the proctor to be sure the proper test is being given.  Once that is done, the student will not be allowed to change tests.  Once the student sees a test, it will be marked a completed test.
  4. ELECTRONIC DEVICES:
The use of cell phones and pagers is strictly forbidden.  All devices must be completely turned off; they may not be on vibrate or silence.  They must be put completely away; they may not be accessed during the exam (even to check messages) or kept on the desk.  Any use of an electronic device during a test will be considered cheating.  This will be strictly enforced.

Failure to follow Testing Center Policy or Test Center personnel instructions will be reported to the instructor and may be treated as an act of academic dishonesty.  For more information, please consult the Student Code of Conduct, Section II -  Academic Dishonesty.
