Haiti Relief Efforts

On Tuesday, January 12, Haiti was struck by a magnitude 7.0 earthquake with the epicenter just 10 miles from the capital of Port-au-Prince. The United States and countries around the world have shifted their focus to helping those in need.

 

The Office of Student Involvement, the Campus Fun & Learn Center, the Student Government Association, and the Student Activities Board have come together to organize a drive to benefit those who remain in need of assistance in the aftermath of the recent earthquake. We will be accepting everything from monetary donations to first aid supplies.

Supplies that are in need:

  • Canned food – or any non perishable foods.
  • Can openers
  • Bottled water
  • Band aids
  • Gauze
  • Alcohol, Alcohol Preps
  • Betadyne
  • Tape (silk, paper, etc)
  • Slings
  • Pain relievers, such as Motrin, Aleve, and aspirin
  • Bacitracin Ointment
  • Syringes and needles
  • Peroxide
  • IV Fluids, Normal Saline
  • Tetanus Vaccines
  • Rubber Gloves
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Soap
  • Paper Towels
  • Diapers
  • Pedialite
  • Imodium for diarrhea
  • Baby Food
  • Baby Formula
  • Neosporin
  • Aid Ointment
  • Masks
  • Crutches
  • Iodine solutions, Hydrogen peroxide solutions
  • Topical antibiotics, (Bactroban, Altabax etc.)
  • Antibiotics (Penicillin, Keflex, Augmentin, Avelox, Cipro)
  • Blankets
  • Towels
  • Children’s clothing

 

Drop off Locations:

  • The Office of Student Involvement, Rm. 3208 (Student Union, 2nd floor)
  • The Campus Fun & Learn Center (Next to Academic I)
  • Assessment and Placement – Rm. 8340
  • Multi Media Production Center – Rm. 8330 (Room 8340 and 8330 are located on the 3rd. Floor of the Technology Center)
  • Athletic Department Room 5170 Fieldhouse
  • Public Safety Office Second Floor Fieldhouse Open 24/7!
