Basic Sailing School

This is an introduction to the world of sails, boats, winds, and water. By the end of this 16-hour course, the student will have a working knowledge of the parts of a boat and be able to sail a boat from point A to B with confidence.  Sailing upwind and downwind, “rules of the road,” anchoring, and docking are a few of the skills that are covered. The course is designed for those with little or no boating experience. Just bring along your dreams!

Our instructors are patient, experienced U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captains and our boats are fully safety equipped and non-capsizing. The classes are 4 hour sessions spread over two weekends. No more than four students per boat with the instructor. Great Hudson certification is earned with course completion; American Sailing Association certification is optional.
