Martha Rottman began as an adjunct at RCC in 1995. She currently is Professor of English and serves as the Division Chair of Humanities. Rottman began her career as a high school English teacher in a Chicago suburb. She later moved to Argentina where she offered private English lessons for 10 years. During that time she was also involved in music as a church organist and as a pianist with a chamber music group. Upon returning to the States, Rottman taught ESL for the Consortium of Worker Education, holding classes in a factory and a church in the South Bronx.  She then taught English at Bronx Community College until moving to Rockland.

At RCC, Rottman has been involved in several college-wide initiatives, including the re-organization of the Reading and Writing Center, Learning Communities, ePortfolios, Interludes, and the 2017 Middle States Self-Study.
