Meghan Punschke Nolan, PhD, has been appointed Assistant Professor of English, teaching composition and literature. She comes to RCC with more than eight years of teaching experience, most recently as writing center specialist and English instructor at Concordia College in Bronxville, NY. She has also served as an English adjunct at Westchester Community College and St. John’s University, English instructor at the University of Phoenix’s Jersey City, NJ and Fairfield, CT campuses, and as a founding faculty/writer’s workshop teacher at Invictus Preparatory Charter School in Brooklyn, NY.
Nolan has edited many literary and art journals, including Oranges & Sardines, MiPOesias, OCHO, Shalom Neuman: 40 Years of Fusion Art, and the 2013 edition of the St. John’s Humanities Review. Her poetry was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2007, and her first book, a poetry collection called Stratification, was published in 2008 by BlazeVOX Books. She holds a PhD and MA in English from St. John’s, an MFA in Creative Writing-Poetry from The New School, and a BA in Journalism Communications from Lehigh University.
