Jean L. Phanor was appointed Assistant Professor of Mathematics in 2015. Previously, he  had been an Instructor of Mathematics at SUNY Rockland Community College since September 2010. He joined the College in 2006 as an adjunct faculty member and has taught Mathematics Skills, Algebra, Finite Mathematics,Precalculus, Statistics , Calculus, Multivariable Calculus , among other courses. He has also taught as an adjunct at Bergen Community College in Paramus, NJ. A former RCC student, Phanor has deepened his involvement with various academic pursuits at the College. Among other roles, he is co-chair of the Mathematics Department New Course Development Committee, chair of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Health Professions Division curriculum committee, and an elected representative on the Faculty Senate. Phanor is a published author and has given presentations both professionally and for RCC’s Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL).
