Associate Vice President of Finance / Controller
Joseph Marra, appointed in 2013, brings extensive financial expertise to his role, including 12 years of higher education, nonprofit accounting and management experience. As manager of financial analysis at Westchester Community College from 2006 to 2010, he prepared an annual operating budget of more than $100 million and was a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. As controller at the College of Mount St. Vincent from 1997 to 2004, he successfully implemented a state-of-the-art software system, System Computer Technology (Banner) and revitalized a marginal cash flow system, increasing interest income by $200,000 in less than two years.
Prior to joining RCC, Marra served for three years as a self-employed accountant and business consultant, managing the business office for small to midsize for-profit and nonprofit firms. He also held past roles as director of accounting for the American Red Cross Westchester Chapter and manager of reports and budgets at Montefiore Medical Center. Marra, a resident of Jefferson Valley in Westchester, holds a BS in accounting and an MBA in management, both from Manhattan College.
