Biography

Eileen MacAvery Kane, Instructor of Art since September 2014, has long-standing ties to RCC. She had taught graphic design as an adjunct at the College since 1991, and earned an AAS in Graphic Arts Technology from RCC. She has broad experience in teaching graphic design, typography, digital illustration, digital imaging and web design, as well as in developing curricula and advising and mentoring students.

MacAvery Kane served as Chair of the Graphic Design program at Berkeley College in Woodland Park, NJ. As part of her MFA thesis at Savannah College of Art and Design, she wrote Ethics: A Graphic Designer’s Field Guide and created a blog that serves as a resource and forum for the exploration of topical and ethical issues in graphic design.  Her teaching positions also include stints at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh (online division), Felician College in Rutherford, NJ, Westchester CC in Peekskill, NY, and Empire State College.
