Biography

Eileen MacAvery Kane, joined the Art Dept. full time in September 2014. She has many years of industry experience as a graphic designer and art director as well as teaching graphic design, typography, digital illustration, digital imaging and web design and in developing curricula and advising and mentoring students.

As part of her MFA thesis at Savannah College of Art and Design, MacAvery wrote Ethics: A Graphic Designer’s Field Guide and created a blog that serves as a resource and forum for the exploration of topical and ethical issues in graphic design.  Her teaching positions include stints serving as Chair of Graphic Design at Berkeley College in Woodland Park, NJ, at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh (online division), Felician College in Rutherford, NJ, Westchester CC in Peekskill, NY, and Empire State College.
