Biography

En-Shu Robin Liao, EdD, was appointed Assistant Professor of English in Fall 2015. She has nearly 20 years’ teaching experience encompassing all levels of education as well as deep professional expertise as a translator and editor. She served as Assistant Professor of English at SUNY Fredonia for five years, following a tenure as postdoctoral fellow and guest lecturer at Columbia University Teachers College. Her academic fields of interest include multicultural education, internationalization of curriculum studies, alternative representations of qualitative research, post-structuralism and feminism, postcolonial studies and diaspora identity, and several other areas.

Dr. Liao has taught at various schools in the NYC area, including the High School of Math, Engineering and Science at City College and Columbia University Chinese School, in addition to summer camps and private tutoring services. Since 2012 she has been a bilingual translator/editor for Voice of Hope Publishing Co. of Taipei, Taiwan. A recent book project was translating best-selling author Dr. Timothy Keller’s Counterfeit Gods from English to traditional Chinese.
