Assistant Professor, Exercise and Human Performance

Erik Ellingsen is Assistant Professor of Exercise and Human Performance (formerly Physical Education) at RCC. A graduate of the College, he joined the faculty in 2009 as an adjunct and became an instructor in 2011. Among the courses he has taught are Applied Fitness Concepts, Concepts of Resistance Training, Anaerobic Fitness, Racquet Sports, Team Sports and Weight Training. A certified CrossFit and personal trainer, Ellingsen established the RCC FIT Club to promote lifelong fitness and wellness in the College community. He has organized various fitness and recreational events on campus to raise funds for local charities.

Ellingsen served as Associate Director for the RCC Sports Academy for three years, and was Fitness/Intramural Coordinator for two years. He has been head volleyball coach since 2013 and previously served as assistant coach for two years. Prior to returning to his alma mater, he was an Instructor of Physical/Health Education for the Harrison (NY) Central School District.
