The RCC Foundation’s eleventh annual Leadership Awards Luncheon will honor Men of Distinction.
Faculty Honorees
David Beisel, PhD, Professor of Social Sciences
Dr. David Beisel teaches a popular course in psychohistory as well as Honors history courses in the Sam Draper Mentor/Talented Student Honors Program. He has received several national teaching awards, including the State University of New York’s Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. Beisel earned his PhD in Modern European History from New York University and has presented over 60 papers at scholarly conferences throughout the U.S. and abroad. He is the author of the book, “The Suicidal Embrace: Hitler, the Allies, and the Origins of the Second World War,” as well as more than 90 published papers on American and European history.
Francisco A. Garcia-Quezada, adjunct faculty, Foreign Language
Francisco A. Garcia-Quezada has been teaching Spanish and Latin American Studies at RCC since 2003, while also teaching college-level Spanish at North Rockland HS. At Fordham University and other educational institutions, he works as a consultant in the areas of English language learners, newcomers, and youth development and leadership. He has received local and national recognition for his work related to youth with organizations such as Cornell Cooperative Extension, Aspira of NY, and Rockland Country Day School. Garcia-Quezada earned a BA in Spanish & Bilingual Education from St. Thomas Aquinas College, NY, and an MSEd. in Education: Administration & Supervision from Fordham University.
Alumni Honoree
Lawrence Saint-Victor '02, actor and co-owner, Saint-Victor Productions
A graduate of Ramapo HS, Lawrence Saint-Victor received his first taste of acting (and stage kiss) at RCC. He furthered his training at the Conservatory of Theatre Arts and Film at SUNY Purchase. While studying at the conservatory, Saint-Victor acted in such plays as Winter's Tale, Six degrees of Separation, and Night of the Iguana. Upon graduation, Saint-Victor landed the role of Remy Boudreau on the longest running television series, The Guiding Light. He has also appeared on prime time shows such as Ugly Betty and Law and Order SVU. In addition to his television credits, Saint-Victor received an Audelco award for best ensemble in the play Black Man Rising. His vision is to change the world
through entertainment.
