“Double Crossed: the Saga of the St. Louis,” written and performed by Dr. David Gonzalez
A dramatic reading of a powerful and poetic theater work about The St. Louis, an ill-fated German refugee ship with 937 Jews on board, which was destined for Havana in 1939 but ended up wandering the Atlantic in search of a haven from anti-Semitism. David Gonzalez is an award-winning performance artist and musician. The New York Times said, "As long as David Gonzalez is around, the venerable art of storytelling is in safe hands. He has the gift of creating magical worlds and drawing his audience into them."
