RCC will be holding a 7 week biggest loser weight loss competition this Spring. The competition is now open to all RCC employees and students. In conjunction with the competition, the Physical Education department will be holding a 4 part lecture series on Nutrition, Health and Fitness related information and strategies. These lectures are open to everyone, even if you aren't part of the competition. These lectures will be designed to aid you in your weight loss and overall health. There are also plans for a Health Fair next month. The date will be determined in the coming days.
Biggest Loser Competition
Start date: Monday, March 4th
Registration deadline: Friday, February 28th
Who can participate? Any student or college employee
Description: All participants will be placed onto a team for the length of the entire competition. Awards will be given to the best overall team and the top individuals. Results will be based on the % of body weight lost, not the total number of pounds lost. Participants will be weighed throughout the competition. You will learn how to create your own workout plan. In addition to the lecture series, optional group workouts will be offered throughout the competition in various areas of fitness.
Goal: The culminating event for this competition will be a 5k (3.1 mile) walk/run around the campus fields on Thursday, May 2nd.
