Brokers Pre-Licensing Course

NYS Insurance Property & Casualty Pre-Licensing Course

 

Rockland Community College is certified by New York State Department of Financial Services to offer both the Personal Lines and Property & Casualty Insurance Agents/Brokers Licensing Course to meet the education requirements for the New York State exam.

Graduates of this program are prepared for a variety of entry-level positions in both Personal and Commercial Lines of insurance. This includes people in marketing and sales, customer service representatives, claims examiners and a variety of others.

Topics in the Personal Lines sessions include:

Introduction to Personal Property and Casualty Insurance, NYS and Federal Insurance Laws & Regulations, Insurance Basics & General Insurance, Policy Structure & Common Policy Provisions, Dwelling, National Flood Insurance Program, Personal Watercraft, Personal Umbrella, NY Property Insurance Underwriting Association, Homeowners, Auto, Excess Lines, Terrorism Risk Insurance Act and other Personal Lines policies and forms including glossary review and practice tests to prepare for the state exam.

Topics in the Commercial Lines - Property & Casualty sessions include:

Commercial Property and General Liability, Business owners Package Policy, Commercial Crime Coverages, Commercial Auto, Commercial Inland and Ocean Marine, Equipment Breakdown, Farm Coverages, Surety Bonds, Workers Compensation and NYS Disability Benefits Law and Specialty Liability Insurance Coverages.
