Introduction to social media Business Development, strategy and mamgement


For many organizations, social media has become a primary channel to engage, listen, communicate and expand an audience.  Platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, and Tumblr have transformed the customer experience and changed the rules of marketing and engagement.

Participation in this class will enable you to plan, execute and assess a comprehensive and efficient social media campaign.  Through a mixture of case study analysis, project work, and simulation, participants will experience how social media organization development, strategy, and management will benefit an organization.

Throughout the semester, students will not only complete the course objectives of Introduction to Social Media Business Development, Strategy, and Management, but also participate in the “Doing Social Good in Rockland County” project, where students will work with a small business or nonprofit organization in Rockland County throughout the semester to create a detailed social media marketing plan for them and share their findings for their final presentation.
