Mind Your Manners: Dog Training - Level I
This course will introduce you to the foundational behaviors that your dog needs to have good manners. You will learn how to train your dog by using force-free, positive-reinforcement training techniques that are fun, effective, and easy to learn while building a trust human/canine relationship.
To be covered: name recognition, focus for attention, impulse control, wait, sit, down, come when called, loose leash walking, hand target, leave it, drop it, give, and tricks.
Clicker training is introduced, but is not mandatory to complete the course.
Pre-requisites: A copy of current rabies vaccination must be submitted prior to first class.
Note: The first class is an orientation for people only. No dogs please.

INSTRUCTOR: Fran Hellman has trained dogs for thirty years, earning several American Kennel Club titles in multiple areas of canine events. Her “force-free” reward based training methods foster a strong and trusting human-canine relationship. Fran is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.
