New York State License Law at a Glance!

Anyone who wishes to sell, lease or rent another person's real property for a fee or commission must be licensed as either a Real Estate Broker or a Real Estate Salesperson. A Broker may open and operate an office while a Salesperson may work only under the supervision of a Broker. Unless a person has at least two years of prior active real estate experience, anyone wishing to become a licensed Broker must begin as a Salesperson. In order to become a licensed Salesperson you must take a 75-hour Salesperson licensing qualifying course.

Rockland Community College is partnering with Career WebSchool to offer online real estate salesperson and broker courses. These pre-license courses are New York State approved and will qualify you to take the state exam.
