Mushroom Talk

Drawing from lessons learned over millennia by people from around the world, modern cultivation techniques have allowed access to mushrooms in unprecedented quantity and variety. Many mushroom varieties offer a host of nutritional and oftentimes medicinal benefits when consumed as part of a regular diet. But they aren’t just for eating. From potent anti-microbial and anti-cancer drugs to improved laundry detergent and better environmental decontamination, these long-ignored creatures are proving themselves a valuable ally in our ever-widening quest for sustainable solutions. Explore the world of mushrooms, their mycelia (‘roots’) and recent research demonstrating the remarkable potential of these species to alleviate a wide range of current human and environmental problems.
