List of scholarships under Business and Technology including Accounting and Management

Accounting Scholarship Scholarship
To stimulate the interest in accounting.
Scholarship Amount: $350.00 check
Selection Authority: Accounting Faculty
Criteria: Must be an accounting major enrolled in ACC 201 or ACC 202, with a GPA of 3.0 in all completed accounting courses.

Anna May Silverman Scholarship Fund
Established by former business professor Anna May Silverman, to assist an adult student, interested in accounting, with the purchase of textbooks.
Scholarship Amount: $150.00 bookstore credit
Selection Authority: Business & Accounting Faculty
Criteria:
  • Must attend Rockland Community College and have completed 15 credits with a GPA of 3.0 in Accounting 101.
  • Must enroll at RCC the following fall semester.

Business Scholarship
Provide assistance to business students.
Scholarship Amount: $300.00 education credit
Selection Authority: Business Faculty
Criteria:
  • Must have attended RCC for one or two semesters.
  • Must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • Must enroll at RCC the following fall semester.

Champion (St. Regis Paper) Scholarship
To further the education of deserving students.
Scholarship Amount: $200.00 education credit
Selection Authority: RCC Scholarship Committee
Criteria:
  • Must demonstrate financial need.
  • Must demonstrate an interest in Business.
  • Must enroll at RCC the following fall semester.
Other Requirements: Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid Form

Computer Studies Scholarship
To recognize outstanding efforts of students in the Computer Studies Program.
Scholarship Amount: $150.00 check
Selection Authority: Computer Studies Faculty
Criteria: Must be currently enrolled at RCC in the Computer Information Systems Program or the Computer Support Services Program with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

David McCarey Sr. Memorial Scholarship
Established in honor of David McCarey Sr., past Director of the RCC Foundation.
Scholarship Amount: $1,000.00 education credit
Selection Authority: RCC Scholarship Committee
Criteria:
  • Must be majoring in Business.
  • Must enroll at RCC the following fall semester.

John Beers Management Development Honors (MgD) Scholarship
Established in memory of John Beers, former Chairman of the Data Processing Department and originator of the MgD Honors Program at Rockland Community College.
Scholarship Amount: $1,100.00 education credit
Selection Authority: MgD Coordinator
Criteria:
  • Must be a continuing student
  • Must be a graduate of a Rockland County high school with a B average and have been admitted to the MgD Program.
  • Must enroll at RCC the following fall semester.

Lee & Martin Bernstein Scholarship
Established by the Rockland County Board of Realtors in memory of Lee Bernstein, and to honor her husband, Martin Bernstein.
Scholarship Amount: $100.00 education credit
Selection Authority: President of the Rockland County Board of Realtors, and the RCC Scholarship Committee
Criteria:
  • Must be a resident of Rockland County
  • Must be a graduate of a Rockland County public high school
  • Must have a minimum of 12 credits, and be active in community and/or college extracurricular activities.
  • Must enroll at RCC the following fall semester.

Lisa Mazurek Scholarship Fund
Established in memory of Lisa Mazurek, a former Honors student at Rockland Community College.
Scholarship Amount: $500.00 education credit
Selection Authority: MgD Coordinator
Criteria:
  • Must be a student enrolled in MgD Honors at Rockland
  • Must be enrolled at RCC the following fall semester.

Louis J. Dapolito Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Louis J. Dapolito, to assist business student.
Scholarship Amount: $75.00 education credit
Selection Authority: RCC Scholarship Committee
Criteria:
  • Must have demonstrated ability in finance and accounting.
  • Must enroll at RCC the following fall semester.

Martin Schwartz Scholarship
Established in honor of Martin Schwartz, former Director of Business & Industrial Development/Management Institute.
Scholarship Amount: $200.00 education credit
Selection Authority: Business Faculty
Criteria:
  • Must be enrolled in courses leading to a Business degree.
  • Must enroll at RCC the following fall semester.

Richard Mossip Memorial Scholarship
In celebration of the life of Richard Mossip, beloved professor and colleague for his many contributions to Rockland Community College.
Scholarship Amount: $1,000.00 education credit
Selection Authority: Electrical Technology Department
Criteria:
  • Awarded to a continuing student that has demonstrated excellence in Electrical Technology.
  • Must enroll at RCC the following semester.

Rockland Chapter NYS Society of Certified Public Accountants
Accounting student scholarship
Scholarship Amount: $500.00 check
Selection Authority: RCC Scholarship Committee
Criteria:
  • Must be Rockland High School graduate.
  • Must be a second year accounting student with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Rockland Chapter NYS Society of Certified Public Accountants Allen Stein Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Allan Stein, CPA, who was an active member of the Rockland Chapter of the NYS Society of Certified the NYS Society of Certified Scholarship.
Scholarship Amount: $500.00 check
Selection Authority: RCC Scholarship Committee
Criteria:
  • Must be Rockland High School graduate.
  • Must be a second year Accounting student.

Sunday & Thomas Fagan Scholarship
Established by Sunday & Thomas Fagan to provide assistance to students in Business or Management.
Scholarship Amount: $400.00 education credit
Selection Authority: Division Chair & Business Faculty
Criteria:
  • Must have attended or graduated from a Rockland County high school.
  • Must be enrolled at RCC in Business or Management.
  • Must enroll at RCC the following fall semester.
