Catherine Burkert Nursing Scholarship
Provide educational assistance to students at Rockland Community College.
Scholarship Amount:
Two (2) $650.00 check
Selection Authority:
Nursing Faculty
Criteria:
Must be attending RCC.
Must be a 3rd or 4th semester nursing student.
Michael Falcone/Nyack Hospital Foundation Memorial Scholarship
Provide educational assistance to a Rockland Community College student in a health related field.
Scholarship Amount:
$600.00 education credit
Selection Authority:
Health Care/Nursing Program Coordinators
Criteria:
Must be taking at least 6 credits in one of the health-related Rockland Community College programs.
Must be a resident of Rockland County
Must have a GPA of 2.5
Must enroll at RCC the following fall semester.
Lillian Holdsworth Nursing Award
Established by retired Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Kay Weitzman, in memory of her mother.
Scholarship Amount:
$200.00 check
Selection Authority:
Nursing Faculty
Criteria:
Must demonstrate outstanding sensitivity and skill in the care of the terminally ill.
Must enroll at RCC the following fall semester.
Tau-Phi Chapter Nursing Scholarship
To assist deserving students pursuing a nursing degree at Rockland Community College
Scholarship Amount:
$500.00 education credit
Selection Authority:
Tau Phi Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.
Criteria:
Must be enrolled in the Nursing Program at RCC
Demonstrate financial need, scholarship ability, and leadership potential.
Applicants who have received a previous scholarship award will be considered if academic performance has been consistent and outstanding.
Student must enroll at RCC the following fall semester.
Other Requirements:
Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid Form
Doreen Jackson Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Doreen Jackson a longtime professor in the Rockland Community College Nursing Department.
Scholarship Amount:
$300.00 check
Selection Authority:
Nursing Faculty
Criteria:
Must be of African-American descent
GPA of 2.5 or better.
Demonstrate financial need
Other Requirements:
Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid Form
David Beard Scholarship I
Established by David Beard, a graduate of the RCC Nursing Program, to provide financial assistance to deserving students pursuing an AS Degree in Nursing at Rockland Community College.
Scholarship Amount:
One (1) $1,000.00 check
Selection Authority:
Nursing Faculty
Criteria:
Successful completion of NUR 111 & 113.
Preference given to Rockland County residents
GPA of 2.75 or higher & have NOT repeated a Nursing Process course.
Demonstrates leadership skills; e.g., active in pre-professional activities such as SNA or SGA, dedication to the community at large; e.g., PTA, Hospice, Scouts, etc.
David Beard Scholarship II
Established by David Beard, a graduate of the RCC Nursing Program, to provide financial assistance to deserving students pursuing an AS Degree in Nursing at Rockland Community College.

In memory of Caitlin Hammeran, who was killed at Virginia Technical Center, daughter of Marlon Hammeran, an Occupational Therapy supervisor for RCC students.
Scholarship Amount:
One (1) $150.00 educational credit in final fieldwork semester.
