Howard Hellman '72
From Struggling HS Student to Inventor of Revolutionary Bridge Lighting
Howard N. Hellman ’72 is founder and Chairman of All Bright Electric, nationally known for its revolutionary installation of light-emitting diode (LED) illumination along the entire length of one of the world’s longest foot bridges. The LEDs on the former Poughkeepsie-Highland Railroad Bridge over the Hudson River wash the walking surface with light without creating light pollution to the area above and around it.
Because Howard struggled with his studies throughout high school career, RCC placed him with professors who could help him improve his Math, English and Science learning skills.
“I attribute my academic success at RCC to the small class sizes and one- on-one communication with my professors—in and out of class.”
