SUNY COVID Vaccine Mandate

All students are strongly encouraged to stay up to date on their initial course of vaccinations and boosters consistent with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Under New York State Public Health Law 2165, students born on or after January 1, 1957, who are enrolling in six or more credits, must provide proof of immunity against measles, mumps, and rubella.

Immunizations Required:

Measles:

  • Two injections at least thirty days apart on or after January 1, 1968.
    • The first injection must be on or after the first birthday.
    • Immunizations prior to January 1, 1968 are acceptable if there is proof that live vaccine was used.
  • or positive titer.
  • or date of physician documented disease.

Mumps:

  • One injection on or after January 1, 1968. The injection must be on or after the first birthday.
  • or positive titer.
  • or date of physician documented disease.

Rubella:

  • One injection on or after January 1, 1969. The injection must be on or after the first birthday.
  • or positive titer.

Meningitis

Effective August 15, 2003, New York State Public Health Law 2167 requires colleges and universities to distribute information about meningococcal disease and vaccination to all students enrolled in 6 or more credits, whether they live on or off campus. The law also requires that you take action.

  • You must complete, and submit to Admissions, a Meningococcal Meningitis Response Form.
  • RCC shall not permit any student to attend classes in excess of 30 days without complying with this law.
