Congratulations! You have taken the first step in what could be the most exciting and challenging learning experience of your life! Here you will find information on how to apply for a study abroad program.

Application Process

  1. Obtain Your Home Institution Approval - Before applying to Study Abroad, students should obtain approval from their home institution advisor. Students should ensure that they are keeping in line with their home institution degree requirements.
  2. Complete and Submit an Application - Applications must include a complete application form, an original transcript of studies, statement of purpose, and three recommendation letters. Application forms can be found on each study abroad program.
  3. Notification of outcome - Students will be notified regardless of whether their application is successful or unsuccessful. In most cases, students will be contacted within two weeks of submitting a complete application. If students do not hear back within this time frame, they may contact the Study Abroad Coordinator. Successful applicants will receive an acceptance package including a confirmation form, medical and Insurance form and other information.
  4. Responding to Confirmation - Successful applicants are then required to return the appropriate response forms to formally accept their offer. Students should respond as soon as possible.

Grade and Credit Transfer

Due to different exam schedules abroad, grades take some time to be transferred back to the US. Please contact our office should you plan to study abroad during your final semester in school so we can explain the time frame to you in more detail.
