Approved SUNY Rockland Courses

Students pursuing a baccalaureate degree at a four-year SUNY College or University are required to complete 30 credits of General Education course in at least 7 of the 10 areas listed below.  Students must fulfill the Basic Communications and Mathematics requirement, as well as courses from 5 of the remaining areas.

RCC students completing an AA or AS degree are encouraged to complete a minimum of 21 credits of general education (including Basic Communications and Math) prior to transfer.  RCC students completing an AAS degree are encouraged to complete a minimum of 15 credits of General Education (including Basic Communications and Math) prior to transfer

*Basic Communication requires that students take two courses (ENG 101 and SPE 101)

*Students who complete a course in which the prerequisite is an approved SUNY General Education course may count that course as a general education requirement.
