Computer Information Systems/Computer Support Certificate Requirements

I. English, Social Science, Math, Science, Humanities, Arts And Sciences, Unrestricted Electives, Physical Education (Not Required For This Certificate)

Although there is no specific English or mathematics requirement for this certificate, students must take the English and mathematics
assessments. In order to graduate, they must be assessed at ENG 101 (or higher) and MAT 101 (or higher) or receive a passing grade in
the required English Skills or pre-MAT 101 course(s). A minimum of strong algebra background is recommended for this certificate.

 

II. Computer Concentration - Select Option A or B

A. Computer Information Systems

Core Requirements (16 Credits Required)

CSP 125 Intro to Programming/Visual Basic (4 cr)
CSP 127 Computer Programming I/JAVA (4 cr)
CSP 128 Computer Programming II p (4 cr)
CSP 211 Systems Analysis p (4 cr)


Elective Requirements* (11 - 12 Credits Required)

Select any 3 CSP courses by advisement except: CSP 100, CSP 105 or CSP 106

Total: 27-28 credits

 

B. Computer Support

Core Requirements (20 Credits Required)

CSP 115 Principles of Operating Systems Windows (4 cr)
CSP 125 Intro to Programming/Visual Basic (4 cr)
CSP 138 Spreadsheet Design/Excel (4 cr)
CSP 139 Database Design/Access (4 cr)
CSP 211 Systems Analysis p (4 cr)


Elective Requirements* (6 - 8 Credits Required)

Select any 2 CSP or CNE courses by advisement except:
CSP 100, CSP 105 or CSP 106

Total: 26 - 28 credits
